Apartment Review
YOU CAN ALWAYS MOVE
Review Date: 10/21/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous
The apartment is HUD subsidized, so 1/3 of your low-income check is taken for rent, which doesn't work in 2008. We have no security (claim they cannot afford it), we have 4 washers and dryers for 101 apartments (claim that's enough). The outside is kept nicely, as it causes the illusion that it must be kept up well inside the building. The new government-built parking lot designed by a person without any clue as to what seniors and disabled people need has too few disability parking space, and bricks to roll over in your wheel chair, which jar your teeth and body. Mangement? Maintenance is done on a, "When I get around to it" basis. Most units are unkempt, but management doesn't care. They have a pseudo-exterminator come around every two weeks, but most people don't care about living with pests, so they don't ask for the exterminator. People allow small children to run and scream in the halls, take elevators by themselves, etc. In general, if you've lived like this all of your life, you will like living here, but if you've worked hard all your life; then had a catastrophic illness that puts you here, you'll hate it. Windows are not washed, nor are the drapes, nor is your carpet. These are supposed to be done by the elderly and handicapped. |
