Apartment Review for Bradley Building - Cleveland, OH

The Noise from upstairs was atrocious, but having an almost 1,700 SF apartment with high ceilings was incredible considering I paid more for 650 sf in Philly. The property manager is simply NOT AN HONEST PERSON. I paid rent on time, was a good tenant and never caused any issues. He and I got along very well. UNTIL... Once my lease was up, he made an agreement with me to pay 30% more a month to compensate for a 'potential' tenant while I waited to hear from my job for a possible transfer. He finally gave me 12 days notice to move. ILLEGAL!!! But I'm a pretty efficient person so I swiftly found another place and moved. You get 2 hours to move! PERIOD! POINT BLANK! Or else you pay for the hours the guy has to keep the elevator doors padded.. Instead of receiving my securing deposit I got a note saying that the 'damages' to the property cost almost $1,100 so I in fact OWED THEM $200. THANK GOODNESS I took pictures. The Judge looked at this awful person over the top of his glasses and said "I'm finding a hard time justifying your claim!' So I won DOUBLE DAMAGES and received a check for $1,700. He is really ridiculous and I did the right thing as a young single person by taking pictures of the apartment I spent 3 hours cleaning up after I moved. The building is cool, the receptionist (who I believe quit) was very nice, but you can't trust that man! If you do happen to move in, protect yourself and take pictures when you leave. If he tries to play with your money during these tough economic times, pay $30 at the small claims court (on Lakeside Ave) and SUE!
